Do you know exactly how to communicate with film crews, “sell” your locations, turn a filming site into a tourist attraction, create a compelling tourist film, plan your production schedule, and choose the right formats?
The Zagreb County Tourist Board, in collaboration with BALDUČI FILM d.o.o. and the Croatian National Tourist Board, addressed these questions in a training session for local tourist boards on film tourism and the production of tourist films.
“This is an educational project in cooperation with the Croatian National Tourist Board, aiming to encourage greater involvement of all tourist boards in promoting film tourism, marking locations where significant domestic and international films were shot, and thus bringing additional promotion to local communities,” said Spomenka Saraga, Director of BALDUČI FILM d.o.o. “We also presented new trends in producing tourist films—how to make an effective promotional film and how to further promote it through participation in tourist film festivals.”
Ivana Alilović, Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, highlighted: “Film, as part of the creative industry, serves as a powerful promotional tool through which we showcase our values, culture, traditions, natural beauty, and the very best of Zagreb County. A well-made film is an excellent way to boost a destination’s competitiveness in both national and international markets. Today’s training is designed for the system of tourist boards in Zagreb County to raise the level of expertise and provide clear guidelines for the entire system.”
Velika Gorica has always been an excellent host. Mayor Krešimir Ačkar emphasised: “Films allow tourists to preview and familiarise themselves with what they can expect at a destination. By linking a destination with a film, we can present it in the best possible way. We are pleased that Velika Gorica is hosting this educational event.”
