The destination film, Flavours First, , produced by the Zagreb County Tourist Board, introduces viewers to the rich food and wine heritage of the county’s wine roads. At the official awards ceremony of the Zagreb Tour Film Festival, held on Friday, 14 October, the film was named Best Wine Film.
Selected from a total of 106 films and audiovisual works promoting tourism destinations, an expert jury composed of leading Croatian and international professionals awarded Flavours First the prize for Best Promotional Tourism Film in the Wine & Gastronomy Tourism category.
„“We created the destination film Flavours First, intending to present our guests and visitors to Zagreb County with the deep-rooted connection between wine roads and gastronomy that has been nurtured here for centuries. Zagreb County is well known for its local cuisine and fresh, authentic ingredients, which naturally complement the wine road experience. We are extremely proud that our work at the Zagreb County Tourist Board reflects the outstanding achievements of our winemakers, who have received numerous international awards for the recognised excellence of their wines,” said Ivana Alilović of the Zagreb County Tourist Board.
In addition to reaching the finals of the Art & Tur Festival in Portugal, this award has further increased the international visibility of the Zagreb County wine roads, as well as the winemakers, restaurants and local producers who support them, placing them among the world’s most acclaimed tourism films.
