A meeting of the members of the Zagreb County Destination Management Council (PUD ZŽ) was held today, where key topics related to the development and promotion of tourism in the county were discussed.
During the meeting, participants analysed current trends and challenges in tourism, with a special focus on sustainable development, digitalisation, and strengthening the destination’s visibility and identity. Discussions also covered upcoming projects and activities that will enhance the region’s tourism offer and improve cooperation among various stakeholders in the sector.
Particular emphasis was placed on the projects to be included in the Zagreb County Destination Management Plan, to ensure long-term development and increase the region’s competitiveness.
"This meeting once again confirmed the importance of a systematic and strategic approach to tourism development in Zagreb County. The projects that will be incorporated into the Destination Management Plan are based on sustainability principles and aligned with the criteria defined by the Tourism Act. Our goal is to create a resilient, innovative, and competitive destination that will bring long-term benefits to the local community and attract visitors through responsible resource management and a clear vision of development," said Ivana Alilović, Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board.
The meeting concluded that the joint efforts of all involved are essential for the continued progress of the tourism sector in Zagreb County and that the coming period will focus on further advancing an integrated and coordinated approach to destination development.
