Supporting the Development of Sustainable, Recognisable and Competitive Continental Destinations
The Zagreb County Tourist Board has announced a Public Call for the allocation of non-refundable financial grants intended for projects of local tourist boards in tourism underdeveloped areas and continental destinations for 2026. The call is implemented in cooperation with the Croatian National Tourist Board through the Fund for Tourism in Underdeveloped Areas and the Continent.
The objective of the Public Call is to encourage the development of high-quality and distinctive tourism content that strengthens the identity of continental destinations, improves local tourism infrastructure, promotes sustainable development, and contributes to a more balanced distribution of tourism throughout the year. The grants are aimed at projects that enrich the tourism offer, valorise local natural and cultural heritage, stimulate the development of new attractions, and enhance the overall attractiveness of destinations within Zagreb County.
This marks the fifth consecutive year in which the Zagreb County Tourist Board has implemented this Public Call, confirming its long-term and systematic commitment to the development of continental tourism and strong support for local tourist boards. Previous editions have generated significant interest at the regional level and led to numerous concrete projects that have improved infrastructure, diversified the tourism offer, and enhanced the quality of visitor experiences across destinations.
Eligible applicants include local tourist boards operating within Zagreb County, with the application deadline set for the end of January. Timely submission will ensure consideration of projects with the potential to make a long-term contribution to destination development and competitiveness.
The Zagreb County Tourist Board and the Croatian National Tourist Board continue their partnership to strengthen continental tourism and create competitive destinations. This new Public Call represents a significant opportunity to realise projects that, in the long term, will contribute to the development of local communities, increase destination visibility, and enhance sustainability.
