The Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, Ivana Alilović, together with directors of local tourist boards representing towns, municipalities, and tourism areas across Zagreb County, signed grant agreements in Velika Gorica for projects implemented by local tourist boards in tourism-underdeveloped continental areas. . Funding for the projects was secured through the Fund for Tourism-Underdeveloped Areas and the Continental Region, based on a decision of the Croatian National Tourist Board (CNTB) Tourism Council, following a proposal by a committee composed of representatives of the CNTB, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Croatia, and members of the Tourism Council of the Zagreb County Tourist Board.
In total, EUR 183,308 was awarded to 18 projects implemented by local tourist boards across Zagreb County.
“There can be no tourism growth if our tourism infrastructure, events, and activities are not competitive and aligned with modern trends. We are developing our destination toward sustainable tourism, as a green destination committed to environmental protection and the care of the local community. Sustainability must not only be built, but lived every day,” said Ivana Alilović, Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, adding that the allocated funds represent an additional boost to economic development.
