On the International Recognition Day of the Republic of Croatia, citizens in Croatian cities can enjoy free guided tours.

On the International Recognition Day of the Republic of Croatia, which falls on Sunday, January 15, 2023, a project called "Discover your homeland" will offer free guided tours in approximately 50 cities across Croatia.

The Association of Tourist Guide Associations of Croatia, in collaboration with the Croatian Tourist Association and several partners, alongside the support of multiple museums, historical units, and cultural institutions, has been organising an event since 2018. This event primarily aims to familiarise citizens with their local cultural and historical heritage and emphasise the significance of national identity and cultural richness. Furthermore, it seeks to create awareness among tourism workers and guides regarding their impact on Croatia's international reputation. The event is of immense value to the country's tourism industry as it not only serves as a platform to promote Croatian culture and heritage but also helps in educating the public. This initiative has been well-received since its inception and has become an annual event. It is a testament to the organisers' hard work and dedication to preserving and promoting Croatia's cultural heritage.

In Zagreb County, tours of the cultural and historical sights of Samobor are organised, where you can come for a free tour on Sunday at noon at Trg Kralja Tomislava (by the well). At the same time, in Ivanić-Grad (near the town clock), you will have the opportunity to take a free tour of the cultural and historical sights of the town and hear exciting stories of the Moslavina homeland.

Ivana Alilović, director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, stated that the tourism sector has demonstrated its ability to achieve excellent results through innovative approaches and synergy with the implementation of the project and the initiative of providing free guiding services to citizens throughout Croatia. This effort has become a tradition with the International Recognition Day of the Republic of Croatia.
