Explore Career Opportunities in Camping Tourism
The Croatian Camping Association invites all interested individuals to attend the Open Day at Camping Zagrebin Rakitje on 6 May 2026.This event is part of the project “Sustainable Tourism, Sustainable Careers – Fast Forward to Excellence” implemented with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, to encourage employment and professional development in the tourism sector. Project partners include the Croatian Association of Hotel Employers, the Impresia Association, and the Jeunes Restaurateurs Association.
This year’s programme covers two locations – a continental and a coastal one. In addition to Camping Zagreb, the Open Day will also be held at Camping Stobreč Split. In this way, participants are offered insight into different types of camping destinations, as well as the opportunity to experience working in the sector first-hand, whether inland or by the sea.
What can you expect?
During a guided professional tour of the campsite, participants will have the opportunity to become acquainted with work in key segments of the camping industry – reception, hospitality, animation, maintenance, and other important areas of operation. Camp staff will present the organisational structure, job roles, and the specific skills required for a successful career in camping tourism.
This event is intended not only for pupils and students, but also for unemployed individuals considering a career in tourism, as well as those already working in the sector who wish to gain new knowledge and experience.
Collaboration Between Education and the Tourism Industry
Open Days in camping are part of a broader initiative to connect vocational schools and higher education institutions with tourism employers. The Croatian Camping Association has already organised several activities, such as guest lectures and meetings with employers, all aimed at motivating young people to pursue careers in tourism – one of the most promising sectors of the Croatian economy.
