Tradition and Excellence in Zagreb County: Presentation of the Days of Flavours and an Award for a Dugo Selo Patisserie

The gastronomic event "Days of Croatian Traditional Flavours – Days of Flavours of the Zagreb Region" will take place in Zagreb County from 14 to 30 November, offering visitors and lovers of traditional cuisine a rich selection of specially crafted menus across ten local restaurants and eateries.

The event was presented at a press conference organised by the Zagreb County Tourist Board, where the latest edition of the Days of Flavours of the Zagreb Region was introduced. Ivana Alilović, Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, and Nenad Panian, Mayor of Dugo Selo, emphasised the importance of this manifestation in promoting traditional cuisine, which continues to thrive in numerous establishments throughout the county.

Otvorenje ove gastronomske manifestacije, koja kreće 14. studenoga, obilježeno je s dodjelom oznake „Okusi tradicije zagrebačkoga kraja“ slastičarnici Jagode i čokolada – Old School. „Certifikat potvrđuje tradicionalni koncept i kvalitetu, predanost očuvanju gastronomske baštine i doprinos promociji lokalnog kulinarskog identiteta“, ističe voditelj projekta ‘Okusi hrvatske tradicije’ Borislav Šimenc.

Mayor Panian stressed that this prestigious recognition further affirms Dugo Selo as a destination with a growing eno-gastronomic offer. At the same time, Director Alilović noted that Zagreb County traditionally participates in this event and that stakeholders across the tourism sector are committed to safeguarding the region's rich culinary heritage. Karmela Vukov Colić, Director of the Dugo Selo Tourist Board, added that local restaurateurs and producers are becoming increasingly important to the region's tourism offering, and that certifications such as this serve as a strong incentive for further development of local gastronomy.

A Rich Selection of Savoury and Sweet Menus

Seventeen specially designed menus are available at ten participating establishments, priced from €5 for sweet treats to €31 for a full three-course menu paired with selected wines. The offer features dishes inspired by local ingredients and traditional recipes, including forest mushroom soup, slow-roasted baby veal shank, Turopolje pork cheeks, young roasted wild boar with gnocchi and cranberries, pork loin in Portugizac wine sauce, larded pork neck, and Žumberak-style trout. A special highlight is the variety of homemade desserts—from the Dugo Selo Cake and classic Dobos to strudels and baked štrukli.

This year's Days of Flavours of the Zagreb Region feature: Bistro Babriga, Krčma Gabreku 1929, Restaurant & Winery Ivančić, Restaurant Mon-Ami, Hotel Princess, Restaurant Samoborska klet, Suhina Country Estate, Vina Kos-Jurišić Country Estate, Jagode i čokolada Patisserie, and Jagode i čokolada Old School Patisserie.
