The Štimac family from Stankovo won the Best Renter award as part of a promotion conducted by Novi List in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Tourist Board. Their accommodations have been recognised as the best in Croatia, a testament to their commitment to excellence in the hospitality industry. This achievement underscores the importance of providing high-quality accommodation and validates the family's efforts. The award promotes the tourism industry in Croatia and encourages others to strive for excellence in the field.
In the final selection, the commission analysed 36 accommodation facilities in 11 counties and chose the best.
The decision that might have seemed like a random fancy or an act of malice in the past has resulted in creating an exceptional object near Jaska. Today, Moj Hir (My Whim Rooms) is a brilliant concept. The establishment boasts several rooms that feature distinct furniture designs created by the author. The furniture exudes elegance and emphasizes the importance of sustainability and upcycling of otherwise "useless" materials and objects. Experts explain that most furniture is fabricated from wood sourced from old, dilapidated structures. The furniture is crafted to add a new value to the timber and satisfies the highest demands of modern guests.
The standard rooms are of exceptional quality, and the breakfast is rich. The offer of indigenous wines, such as Plešivica, brandy, pumpkin oil, and pasta, represents the region and a large part of Croatia. These are displayed in the beautiful "My Whim" section, which reflects the whole area. The hosts are accommodating and knowledgeable about the region, providing even the most minor details to their guests.
Last year, My Whim Rooms (Moj hir) were launched amidst a surge of new accommodation options in the Jastrebarsko area. As many as twelve new facilities were opened this year alone.
