During the sixth edition of the Gault&Millau Croatia 2023 international guide presentation, Ivana Alilović, the Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, attended and witnessed the awarding of trophies to multiple chefs from all over Croatia. This year, Zagreb County was home to several highly rated restaurants, wines, oils, and POP establishments, including Vinogradarska kuća Braje and Chop Old House Hotel & Restaurant, which were both recognized for the second time.
Marijo Curić was named the chef of the year, according to the Gault&Millau Croatia gastronomic guide, while the Trophy for the best POP restaurant went to Samobor's "U prolazu" pastry shop.
According to a Gault Millau Croatia’s website review, many people travel from Zagreb, about thirty kilometres away, to enjoy the delicious kremšnita cakes. The saleswomen are always busy packing boxes of pastries for customers to take home, but most visitors prefer to stay and savour their treats with a cup of coffee, tea, a glass of wine, or a fine liqueur.
Congratulations to the talented women's pastry team from Zagreb County - Ivančica Vitko, Snježana Frklić, and Branka Žganjer! Well done!
