"For us, MICHELIN recognition represents far more than an acknowledgement of the quality of individual restaurants. It demonstrates that, as a destination, we are developing a sustainable, authentic and internationally competitive tourism product. For years, we have been systematically investing in the development of our wine and gastronomy sector, strengthening partnerships between outstanding restaurants and local producers, promoting our wine roads and indigenous products, and creating authentic experiences that combine exceptional quality with a true sense of place. We therefore see these recognitions as confirmation that our long-term development strategy and the joint efforts of all destination stakeholders are delivering outstanding results," said Ivana Alilović, Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board.

She added that gastronomy has become one of the most important factors influencing destination choice among high-value travellers and plays a significant role in enhancing the international profile of continental Croatia.

"Our ambition is not simply to have restaurants featured in the world's leading gastronomic guides, but to develop a comprehensive wine and gastronomy ecosystem where quality is created at every stage—from vineyards and fields to the dining table. This holistic approach generates added value for the local economy, strengthens the destination's competitiveness and positions Zagreb County as a destination for exceptional culinary experiences."

The Zagreb County Tourist Board will continue implementing initiatives focused on sustainable gastronomy, promoting local food and wine, and strengthening cooperation among all stakeholders, ensuring that wine and gastronomy remain among the destination's strongest assets and a defining element of its identity and competitiveness.
