This year’s five-kilometre route follows the course of the River Česma through the Žutica Forest, from the fishermen’s lodge to the confluence of the River Česma with the Črnec Canal, which intersects the natural flow of the River Lonja. The trail continues along the Črnec Canal and the oxbow lakes of the River Lonja, leading through floodplain forests and pastures in the area of Žutica known as Behec. Along the way, participants will be greeted by majestic pedunculate oak and ash trees, distinguished by their extraordinary above-ground root structures. The route also passes habitats of coypu (nutria), which arrived in Croatia from South America, as well as a large beaver settlement — beavers were reintroduced to Žutica Forest 25 years ago. Open pastures where horses and cattle graze freely further enrich the landscape.
The Photo Safari aims to highlight the importance of protecting the Žutica floodplain as an area of exceptional biodiversity, while raising public awareness and educating the public about the natural values of this unique ecosystem.

10:30 – 11:00 AM Transfer by minibus to the starting point of the Photo Safari
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM Guided photography session and start of the walking segment
3:00 – 3:30 PM Conclusion of the walking segment and arrival at the Pleso ranger station
3:30 – 4:00 PM Rest and refreshments
4:00 – 6:00 PM “Foresters’ brunch” (šumarski gablec), socialising and joint photography
6:00 – 7:00 PM Return to Ivanić-Grad
