Zagreb County Adopts Its Destination Management Plan Through 2028

At its latest session, the Zagreb County Assembly adopted the Destination Management Plan for Zagreb County through 2028 — a strategic document created in line with current legislation that goes beyond formal requirements and sets a clear course for the county’s tourism development.

The Plan outlines clear goals and priorities focused on sustainable, well-balanced tourism growth that supports the local economy while preserving natural resources, cultural heritage, and the overall quality of life in local communities.

“This document is not just a formal obligation, but our shared roadmap toward the tourism of the future. The Plan clearly defines the direction we want to pursue — development that drives economic growth while safeguarding natural beauty, cultural heritage, and the quality of life in our communities. By adopting this Plan, Zagreb County reaffirms its commitment to excellence, responsibility, and innovation, building tourism that truly serves both people and the places it comes from,” stated Ivana Alilović, Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board.

The adopted Plan serves as a foundation for further positioning of Zagreb County as a recognisable and competitive destination, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, collaboration, and innovative tourism development models.
