The exhibition of the 10th photography competition “I Love My Country”, organised by the Croatian County Association, has opened in the newly refurbished premises of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, located in Preradovićeva Street in Zagreb.
More than 1,000 photographs were submitted for the latest edition of the competition. The selection of the most outstanding works was entrusted to an expert jury chaired by the renowned photographer Damir Hoyka, who chose the winning photographs in three categories. The public selected the winner of the fourth category through an online vote.
On behalf of the Croatian County Association, Ervin Kolarec, Deputy Prefect of Zagreb County, officially opened the exhibition. In his address, he emphasised the importance of the Association, which brings together all Croatian counties around numerous strategic projects, fosters inter-county cooperation, and through initiatives such as this photography competition promotes the beauty, culture and identity of every corner of Croatia.
Ivana Alilović, Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, expressed her pleasure that this travelling exhibition is being hosted in the newly renovated premises, restored following the earthquake, and highlighted that visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a diverse collection of photographs. The exhibition presents a wide range of motifs – from tradition to contemporary interpretations of nature, landscapes and people, as well as sacral and other architectural heritage.
According to the jury, first prize was awarded to Luigi Shkreli from Šibenik-Knin County. In the drone photography category, the winning entry was submitted by Andreja Čuljak from Dubrovnik-Neretva County. In the “Croats Outside Croatia” category, the best photograph was taken by Maira Pilas. At the same time, the public awarded the most online votes to Alen Matanovac from Osijek-Baranja County.
The “I Love My County” exhibition will remain open to visitors at the Zagreb County Tourist Board premises until 20 March 2026.
