Meetings of both the Tourist Council and the Assembly of the Zagreb County Tourist Board were convened to evaluate current tourism performance and to deliberate on the future development of tourism within the county.
A primary emphasis was placed on the Destination Management Plan, which serves as a strategic framework intended to steer tourism development towards sustainability, enhanced quality, and increased competitiveness. The Council unanimously endorsed the proposal to forward the Plan for approval by the County Assembly.
Another significant resolution involved the endorsement of the Glasgow Declaration, which reinforces Zagreb County’s commitment to the green transition and adherence to international standards of sustainable tourism.
The discussions underscored a collective aspiration to elevate the county’s tourism offerings—ranging from preserving natural and cultural heritage to creating innovative experiences that enhance the destination's attractiveness to visitors.
Zagreb County continues to embody a destination where tradition harmonises with modernity, developing a tourism model that supports both the local community and the evolving needs of contemporary travellers.
