Happy Zagreb County Day!

Zagreb County Day is an opportunity to celebrate with pride everything that makes this region truly special—its rich heritage, dedicated people and the strong sense of community that has been built over generations. The day commemorates 17 July 1759, when Empress and Queen Maria Theresa granted Zagreb County its official coat of arms and seal, affirming the historical identity that the region proudly preserves to this day.

Throughout its history, Zagreb County has been a place where people, ideas, traditions and progress come together. Today, it is recognised as a region offering an outstanding quality of life, a strong economy, well-preserved natural landscapes and a rich cultural heritage. It is this balance between tradition and contemporary development that gives Zagreb County its distinctive character and makes it truly unique.

The Zagreb County Tourist Board is proud to promote this identity, believing that the true value of a destination is measured not only by the number of visitors it welcomes, but by the people who shape it every day. Every host, craftsperson, farmer, entrepreneur, artist, winemaker, cultural and tourism professional, and every resident who proudly shares the story of their home is part of the destination we are building together.

We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone whose work, knowledge and dedication preserve the values of Zagreb County and help create a place where tradition is respected, quality is recognised, and hospitality comes naturally.

Happy Zagreb County Day!
