The fourth edition of this prestigious tourism award introduces eight categories and sixteen recognitions for the best in Zagreb County's tourism sector.
Applications for the fourth edition of the “Ruža Zagrebačke županije” Award are entering their final phase. The Zagreb County Tourist Board invites all those who have not yet submitted their applications to do so by 24 April, when the call officially closes.
In just three years, the award has become one of the most important recognitions of excellence in Zagreb County’s tourism sector. This year, it will be presented across eight categories, ranging from sustainable tourism and eno-gastronomy to digital innovation and top events. Each category includes two recognitions, making a total of sixteen awards.
„Every year, I am once again impressed by the diversity and quality of the applications we receive. Behind each submission is a story about people who invest their energy, knowledge and passion into what they do. I encourage everyone who is still considering applying not to wait until the last day, because it is precisely these projects, these people and these ideas that make our county a destination we can be proud of,” said Ivana Alilović, Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board..
Applications are open to both legal entities and individuals from the public and private sectors for projects implemented within the county over the past year. Submissions may be made by project holders as well as by local tourist boards of towns and municipalities. Applications are submitted via an online application form, and entries are evaluated by an independent panel based on criteria including originality, quality of implementation, achieved impact, and sustainability of results.

The award brought me something money cannot buy – recognition from the community that what I do has value. If you have a project that quietly builds the story of our county, this is your opportunity to showcase it,said Tina Miličević, owner of the Ethno Tina craft business and last year’s award winner..
At last year’s award ceremony in Velika Gorica, among the winners were the Ethno Tina craft business run by Tina Miličević and Čokolade i praline Nautilus from Zaprešić for socially responsible entrepreneurship; Restaurant Karlo from Jastrebarsko and the Buševec Women’s Association in the eno-gastronomy category; Greenville from Samobor for sustainable tourism; the Nightswim Inn holiday home from Vrbovec for excellence in accommodation; and the “Paradajz from Paradise” gastro festival from Sveta Nedelja, which was named best event.
