Record 70 Entries Submitted for the 2026 Zagreb County Tourism Award “Rose of Zagreb County”

A significant increase in applications confirms the award’s growing recognition among stakeholders in the county’s tourism sector.

The Zagreb County Tourist Board has closed the call for entries for the fourth edition of the “Rose of Zagreb County” awards, receiving a record 70 submissions across eight categories of tourism excellence—marking a notable rise compared to previous years. The highest level of interest was recorded in the accommodation category, underscoring the strong and dynamic development of the county’s lodging offer.

In addition to accommodation providers, a high number of applications was also recorded in the categories of Best Event/Festival and Tourism Employees and Related Professions. Submissions were also distributed across the remaining categories—Sustainable Tourism, Innovative Products and Services, Socially Responsible Entrepreneurship, and Digital Innovation in Tourism—reflecting both the diversity of Zagreb County’s tourism offer and its commitment to excellence, the Tourist Board noted.

Seventy applications speak for themselves. When we launched the Rose of Zagreb County four years ago, we hoped the award would become a recognisable platform to highlight tourism excellence. Today, it has become even more than that. Each submission tells a tangible story about the people who shape our region’s tourism offer every day—from family-run accommodation and restaurants to digital projects and events that bring together thousands of visitors. This growth in applications challenges us to continue raising the bar and to ensure that the Rose of Zagreb County remains an accolade its recipients are truly proud of.”said Ivana Alilović, Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board and Chair of the Awards Committee..

Project uniqueness among key evaluation criteria

An independent panel of five members—four experts in tourism and media, along with the Tourist Board Director—will begin evaluating all submitted applications in the coming days. Each entry will be assessed based on criteria including originality, quality of implementation, achieved impact, and sustainability of results. Two awards will be presented in each category, for a total of sixteen recognitions.

The names of the winners will be announced soon on the official website and social media channels of the Zagreb County Tourist Board.
