Visitors to Zagreb County can look forward to a vibrant programme of events throughout June, featuring cultural, musical, sporting and gastronomic experiences across the county’s towns and municipalities.
Season Openings in Velika Gorica and Ivanić-Grad
The June programme in Velika Gorica begins with the Days of Youth and Family and the 13th VG Fest, taking place from 3 to 7 June in Dr Franjo Tuđman Park. Festival highlights include performances by Bruno Rački, Hanka Paldum, and the band Retrodukcija.
On 6 and 7 June, Ivanić-Grad celebrates its Town Day festivities at Zelenjak Sports Park. The programme features the 16th International Frog Carnival, alongside concerts by Klapa Cambi, Reanimatori, and Hiljson Mandela.
Documentary Film Premiere and Festival of Laughter
On 10 June at 6:00 PM, the Brdovec Cinema Hall will host the premiere of the fifth documentary film dedicated to the culture and heritage of Zagreb County.
From 8 to 14 June, Jastrebarsko welcomes visitors to the Festival of Life and Laughter, offering a diverse programme of theatre performances and stand-up comedy shows. From 20 to 28 June, the picturesque Erdődy Castle Park becomes the stage for Summer in Jaska, featuring performances by Goran Bare & Majke, Colonia, Queen Sensation, and other renowned artists.
Music Events in Dugo Selo and Zaprešić
From 12 to 14 June, Dugo Selo hosts the Summer Green Festival in Count Drašković Park. The celebrations continue on Martin Breg on 20 and 21 June at 8:30 PM with Stars on Martin, a gala evening of dance and music featuring Adalbert Turner Juci and the Full Bag Orchestra, followed by a performance of the operetta The Merry Widow by Opera BB.
In Zaprešić, the historic New Dvori of Jelačić estate will host the Ban. Music. Memory. concert series on 12 and 13 June at 9:00 PM, featuring acclaimed performances by Amira Medunjanin and Zlatko Pejaković.
Wine, Gastronomy and Local Traditions
From 19 to 24 June, Sveti Ivan Zelina welcomes wine enthusiasts to the 58th Continental Croatia Wine Exhibition at Wine Square. At the same time, the 35th St John’s Days Festival will take place at the Zelina Sports and Recreation Centre, featuring concerts by Vigor, Mejaši, Joy Group, Ljubavnici, and Kumovi.
In Sveta Nedelja, the Paradajz from Paradise – Tomato Festival takes place from 26 to 28 June, combining gastronomy, entertainment and live performances by Damir Kedžo, Neno Belan & Fiumens, and Sandi Cenov.
From 13 to 15 June, Vrbovec celebrates its Town Days with the international gastro-cultural festival Vrbovečki LaškoVec, the 24th Wine Exhibition, and a series of concerts on the Summer Stage.
Music lovers can also enjoy the Samobor Jazz Festival, held from 24 to 28 June on King Tomislav Square in Samobor.
Sporting Highlights
The sporting calendar begins with the 52nd Zagreb Delta Rally, taking place from 11 to 14 June along the route connecting Zagreb and Samobor.
This is followed by the 44th Večernji List Cycling Tour on 13 June, also running between Zagreb and Samobor, and Run for Summer Pisarovina, a 10-kilometre road race held on 20 June, starting from Stjepan Radić Square.
On 14 June, Vrbovec hosts the 33rd Vrbovec Half Marathon, featuring races over 5 km, 10 km and 21 km. The month’s sporting programme concludes with the Salomon Žumberak Trail, held from 26 to 28 June in the stunning natural landscapes of Žumberak Nature Park.
Sustainable and Wine Tourism Programmes
On 2 June at 11:00 AM, the Zagreb County Tourist Board will organise WIA Connect, a networking event for women entrepreneurs shaping the future of tourism in Zagreb County. The event will take place at the Velika Gorica Business Incubator.
Throughout June, workshops within the InterWine project will focus on sustainable tourism development and the promotion of wine tourism. Sessions will be held in Velika Gorica on 15 and 16 June, and in Pušća on 17 and 18 June.
