Director Ivana Alilović was elected to the Management Board of the prestigious tourist network NECSTouR, which presents new opportunities for promoting Zagreb County.

In May, Ivana Alilović, the director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, attended the annual assembly of the NECSTouR organisation in Lulea, Sweden. During the assembly, she was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of the prestigious tourist network. Despite the regional tourist board's recent membership, Alilović's appointment was successful.

At the recent General Assembly of NECSTouR (Network of European Regions for Sustainable and Competitive Tourism), a new Board of Directors was elected for the 2024-2027 term. Alilović, a prominent industry figure, was among the select experts vying for positions on the Board of Directors. This annual assembly offers NECSTouR member organisations the opportunity to share knowledge, establish connections, and welcome new members, such as the Zagreb County Tourist Board.

"This presents an exceptional opportunity to showcase Zagreb County globally and forge new partnerships and collaborations with other European regions. We take great pride in joining this robust network and eagerly anticipate contributing to the shared objectives of sustainable tourism development," stated Alilović, the director, on the occasion of the new appointment. She emphasised the potential for mutual learning between Zagreb County and other European regions, underscoring the opportunities for knowledge exchange.

We have learned that being a member of NECSTouR offers numerous benefits, such as access to a network of leading experts, participation in EU-funded projects, and the opportunity to participate in important international conferences and meetings. This is just one of the accomplishments of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, which is dedicated to promoting the region as an appealing tourist destination with a strong focus on sustainability and innovative tourism offerings. Joining this European network will enhance international connections and boost Zagreb County's visibility as a premier sustainable tourist destination in continental Croatia.

"Did you know about NECSTouR? It's a network of European regions promoting sustainable and competitive tourism. Exciting, right?"

Established in 2007, NECSTouR is an association comprising over 30 regions from various European countries, academic institutions, and tourism experts. The association's primary objective is to promote sustainable tourism. NECSTouR has 49 permanent and 38 associate members, including the Zagreb County Tourist Board.
