The small town of Zaprešić, home to 26,000 inhabitants, can be found 17 km west of Zagreb. Visitors to the area can enjoy a variety of exciting tourist attractions, including five castles (Lužnica, Januševec, Laduč, Gornja Bistra, Jakovlje), churches, nature reserves teeming with plant and animal life, and a diverse range of gastronomic delights. Traditional events such as the Jelačić Days in May and October are also noteworthy. Novi dvori Jelačićevi is a well-preserved feudal economic unit considered one of the best in Croatia.
