A delegation from the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) recently visited Zagreb County. The UNWTO honoured guests were treated to local oenology and gastronomy offerings during their visit to Korak Winery in Plešivica. In the elegant ambience of a restaurant with a Michelin star, UNWTO representatives enjoyed top-quality gastronomy that nurtures local ingredients while preserving the environment.
According to Ivana Alilović, the director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, Zagreb County is more than just a destination; it is a genuine experience for all travel enthusiasts who value sustainability. Winning the bronze Green Destinations certificate confirms the county's long-term efforts to preserve the environment, culture, and culinary heritage. However, the county knows sustainability requires constant investment in raising awareness and the quality of a sustainable offer. As a result, the county is constantly working to improve its sustainable offerings.
The recent visit of the high-level delegation from the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to Zagreb County highlights the region's exemplary role in promoting sustainable tourism practices. This recognition is a testament to the hard work and efforts of the Tourist Board in promoting tourism in the area.
